The Show Must Go On

Transitioning away from the Motown hit machine, this 1977 release captures a legendary vocal quartet navigating the shifting landscape of late-seventies soul and disco. Recorded during their prolific tenure with ABC Records, the collection showcases a sophisticated production style that leans into the lush arrangements and rhythmic grooves of the era. It highlights the group's enduring ability to harmonize over contemporary sounds, bridging the gap between their classic R&B roots and the emerging dance floor trends of the time.

The tracklist features a notable interpretation of Stephen Bishop's 'Save It For A Rainy Day,' alongside soulful cuts like 'Runnin' From Your Love' and 'See The Real Me.' This Spanish pressing serves as a testament to the international reach of Detroit-born soul, even as the industry moved toward the synth-heavy textures of the coming decade. While it represents a later chapter in their storied career, the album remains a vital piece for collectors interested in the evolution of vocal soul during the twilight of the disco boom.
