Album story
Soul classics undergo a radical transformation when reimagined through the rhythmic lens of Jamaican roots reggae. This collection highlights the inherent connection between the social consciousness of 1970s American soul and the island's own struggle for justice and identity.
Deep basslines and syncopated guitar skanks replace the original orchestral arrangements, grounding these familiar melodies in a laid-back, organic groove. The result is a seamless fusion that honors the emotional weight of the songwriting while introducing a steady, meditative pulse perfect for late-night listening.
