Album story
Ry Cooder traveled to Mali to record this session, resulting in a legendary collaboration that feels like a conversation between two masters of the guitar. Their interplay creates a hypnotic, bluesy dialogue that transcends language and geography.
World Circuit Records captured the raw, dusty atmosphere of the desert perfectly during these 1994 sessions. The production remains sparse and intimate, allowing the intricate fingerpicking and deep, soulful rhythms to take center stage.
