House Mix I

Traditional Japanese folk songs undergo a radical transformation here, shedding their acoustic roots for the pulse of early nineties dance floors. These tracks treat ancient melodies as raw samples, layering them over driving house beats and experimental electronic textures.

This record embodies the playful, genre-bending spirit of the Japanese club scene during the early nineties. It captures a specific moment when producers were eager to bridge the gap between regional folk heritage and the burgeoning global fascination with house music.
