Album story
Richard Ashcroft’s soaring vocals define a decade of British guitar music that balanced swagger with deep melancholy. This collection gathers the essential tracks that moved the band from shoegaze textures to massive, orchestral anthems.
These songs reflect the transition of the nineties Britpop scene as it moved toward a more cinematic and expansive sound. It serves as a definitive look at a band that mastered the art of the stadium-sized ballad.
