Jimmy Page and Robert Plant retreated to a remote Welsh cottage called Bron-Yr-Aur to escape the relentless touring cycle of the late sixties. This change of scenery forced the band to trade their heavy electric blues for a more intimate, acoustic-driven sound that caught many fans off guard at the time.

Released in 1970, the record captures a band in transition, balancing thunderous tracks like "Immigrant Song" with delicate folk arrangements. It remains a fascinating look at a group refusing to be pigeonholed, blending psychedelic textures with traditional blues and pastoral folk influences.
