Delete your account in the app

If you can sign in, open Profile, choose Settings, then choose Delete Account. Review the warning and confirm the deletion. Signing in verifies that the request belongs to you.

Deletion is permanent. You will be signed out and will not be able to restore the deleted account or its Plastic collection.

Request deletion without the app

If you cannot use the in-app option, email [email protected] with the subject “Plastic account deletion request”. Whenever possible, write from the email address you use to sign in to Plastic.

To protect your account, we will verify that you control it before acting on an emailed request. We may ask for limited additional account information if the email address alone is not enough to verify ownership. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes, access tokens, or identity documents by email.

What deletion removes

The account-deletion process removes data tied to your Plastic account, including:

• Your Plastic authentication account and profile.
• Your collection, wishlist, saved releases, folders, and generated playlists.
• Your scan history, scan limits, unrecognized scans, and stored scan images.
• Your Plastic analytics events, API-usage records, and announcement dismissals.
• Your Discogs connection credentials and pending Plastic connection requests.

Deleting Plastic does not delete a separate account or data held directly by Google, Apple, Discogs, or another third-party service. You must manage those accounts with the relevant provider.

Limited retention

We may retain limited information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, enforce our agreements, or protect the service. Data may also remain temporarily in restricted backups until those backups are replaced through the normal backup cycle. We do not use retained information to continue providing a deleted account.
