Complete Strangers

Andy Cabic leaned into a more polished, synth-tinged direction with this record, moving away from the purely organic acoustic textures of his earlier work. The songs feel like a collection of late-night reflections, balancing a sense of detachment with moments of genuine, melodic warmth.

Recorded during a period of transition, the production embraces a clean, mid-tempo indie rock aesthetic that feels both spacious and precise. It captures the essence of the mid-2010s West Coast folk-rock scene, where traditional songwriting met a newfound interest in subtle, atmospheric studio layering.
