Frank Ocean completely shifted the landscape of modern R&B by blending deeply personal, narrative-driven songwriting with unconventional song structures. Tracks like the sprawling, ten-minute epic Pyramids showcase his ability to weave cinematic storytelling into a cohesive, genre-defying experience.

Released in 2012, the production feels like a hazy, sun-drenched dream that perfectly captures the restless energy of Los Angeles. It sits right at the intersection of alternative soul and hip-hop, utilizing lush synths and organic instrumentation to create a sound that feels both intimate and grand.
