African Skies

Spiritual jazz legend Phil Cohran channels the vast, rhythmic landscapes of the African continent through a deeply meditative lens. These compositions feel like a sonic map, tracing everything from the flowing White Nile to the rugged peaks of Kilimanjaro with hypnotic precision.

Deeply rooted in the avant-garde Chicago scene, the music balances raw funk grooves with expansive, free-form improvisation. It captures a timeless, soulful energy that feels both ancient and refreshingly modern, perfect for listeners who appreciate music that breathes and evolves.
