Minutes To Midnight

Rick Rubin stepped in to produce this record, pushing the band to move away from their signature nu-metal sound toward a more organic, classic rock aesthetic. The result is a surprisingly vulnerable collection of songs that trades heavy turntable scratches for acoustic guitars and more melodic vocal arrangements.

Released in 2007, the project reflects a deliberate shift in the alternative rock landscape as the group sought to distance themselves from the aggressive rap-metal tropes of the early 2000s. You can hear the tension of that transition in the polished production and the raw, introspective lyrics that define the tracklist.
