Eat A Peach

Tragedy looms over these grooves, as the record serves as a bittersweet farewell to guitarist Duane Allman, who died in a motorcycle accident while the band was still recording. You can hear the raw, emotional weight of that loss in the soaring slide guitar work and the delicate, acoustic beauty of tracks like Little Martha.

Southern rock found its definitive, sprawling voice here, blending tight blues-rock jams with expansive, improvisational live recordings from the Fillmore East. It feels like a humid, late-night porch session that refuses to end, perfectly capturing the transition of a band finding its footing while honoring its fallen brother.
