BC #5 The Original Human Being

Heavy psych pioneers Blue Cheer took a surprising turn here, trading their trademark ear-splitting volume for a more groove-oriented approach. This 1970 release leans into soulful arrangements and funk-inflected rhythms, showing a band eager to evolve beyond the garage rock blueprint they helped define.

Sessions for the record reflect the shifting landscape of the late sixties, blending blues-rock roots with the experimental textures of the era. The result is a surprisingly polished and eclectic sound that captures a group exploring new sonic territory before their eventual dissolution.
