Animals

George Orwell’s 'Animal Farm' serves as the biting narrative backbone for this record, using barnyard archetypes to dissect the social and political decay of mid-seventies Britain. It stands as a cynical, sprawling masterpiece that trades the spacey textures of earlier work for a sharper, more aggressive guitar-driven edge.

Recorded at the band's own Britannia Row Studios, the production captures a cold, industrial atmosphere that perfectly mirrors the album's bleak thematic landscape. Released on the Harvest label, these long-form compositions represent a pivotal moment where the group pushed their progressive rock roots into darker, more confrontational territory.
