Infected

Matt Johnson recorded this project as a cinematic vision, even commissioning a short film for every track on the record. It functions as a dark, sprawling travelogue that captures the anxieties of mid-eighties Britain with unflinching precision.

Sophisticated production techniques and lush, layered arrangements define the sound, moving far beyond the typical post-punk aesthetic of the time. The result is a dense, politically charged masterpiece that feels just as claustrophobic and urgent today as it did upon its release.
