Peng!

Early experiments with motorik rhythms and droning organ melodies define this debut, laying the groundwork for the band's signature avant-pop sound. It captures a raw, unpolished energy that feels much more like a garage jam than the lush, studio-layered arrangements they would later master.

Released in 1992, the record sits right at the intersection of post-punk grit and the burgeoning indie-pop scene in London. The production relies on repetitive, hypnotic loops that reflect the group's deep fascination with 1970s krautrock and political subversion.
