Album story
Sting famously wrote and recorded several versions of the film's songs, including the Oscar-nominated "My Funny Friend and Me," as part of a creative journey that saw the movie undergo massive narrative shifts. The soundtrack also features the villainous "Snuff Out the Light," a cut track that has since become a cult favorite among fans of the film's sharp, comedic tone.
Walt Disney Records leaned into a blend of pop-rock sensibilities and orchestral score work to match the movie's frantic energy. The production captures the turn-of-the-millennium studio sound, balancing catchy, radio-friendly songwriting with the playful, adventurous spirit of early 2000s animation.
