Instant Coma

Capturing the enduring energy of one of reggae's most influential toasters, this 2018 release on the Mafia label serves as a testament to the longevity of the sound system tradition. The record features a stripped-back, heavy-hitting rhythm that allows for a commanding vocal delivery, followed immediately by a 'Version' that strips the track down to its rhythmic skeleton for maximum dancefloor impact. With demand significantly outstripping the number of copies currently in circulation among collectors, the release has become a notable target for those tracking modern pressings of foundation-style deejay music. It bridges the gap between the golden era of 1970s toasting and the contemporary reggae scene, maintaining the raw, conscious aesthetic that the Mafia label is known for preserving.
