Album story
Most fans actually prefer this compilation over the band's proper studio debut because it features raw, urgent BBC radio session recordings. It captures the group at their absolute peak, transforming early singles into tighter, more vital versions that feel like you are standing right in the studio with them.
These tracks define the jangle-pop sound that dominated the mid-eighties British indie scene. The production stays lean and focused, letting Johnny Marr’s intricate guitar work and Morrissey’s sharp, melancholic wit take center stage without any unnecessary polish.
