Album story
A controversial cover photo featuring a close-up of a thong-clad woman caused major retailers to refuse to stock the record upon its initial 1994 release. This bold aesthetic choice mirrored the band's defiant, blues-drenched approach to songwriting during a period of intense creative friction.
Recorded in the shadow of the grunge explosion, the sound leans heavily into gritty, soulful rock influenced by the Faces and the Rolling Stones. The production captures a loose, live-in-the-studio energy that highlights the band's transition into a more experimental and jam-oriented musical space.
