I Know I'm Funny Haha

Blending the twang of pedal steel with the laid-back grooves of R&B, this 2021 release captures a unique intersection of indie-folk and soulful introspection. The songwriting is characterized by a distinct deadpan delivery, where mundane observations about daily life and romantic longing are treated with equal weight. Tracks like "A Dream With A Baseball Player" highlight a specific brand of hyper-fixation and youthful yearning, while the title track balances self-deprecation with genuine emotional stakes. The record's sonic palette is defined by its spaciousness, allowing the intricate instrumentation to breathe alongside intimate, conversational vocals. It solidified a signature sound that feels both nostalgic and contemporary, prioritizing mood and texture over traditional pop structures through slow-burning arrangements.
