MTV Unplugged

Layne Staley’s haunting, fragile vocal performance defines this session, marking one of his final major appearances with the band. The stripped-back arrangements reveal the intricate, bluesy skeletons hidden beneath the heavy distortion of their studio catalog.

Recorded at the height of the 1990s acoustic craze, the performance captures a raw, intimate tension that feels worlds away from the polished grunge radio hits of the era. It remains a definitive document of the band's ability to translate their darkest, most complex compositions into a hauntingly beautiful live setting.
