The Incredible String Band

Before the band dove headfirst into their signature kaleidoscopic, multi-instrumental sprawl, they started here with a surprisingly grounded, intimate collection of songs. It captures a fleeting moment where traditional folk storytelling met the early stirrings of a more experimental, bohemian spirit.

Released during the mid-sixties UK folk revival, the record relies on raw acoustic textures and a distinctively unpolished charm. It feels like a late-night session in a drafty cottage, perfectly preserving the earnest, wandering energy that defined the burgeoning psychedelic folk scene.
