Album story
Les Claypool’s slap-bass wizardry defines this record, turning the instrument into a lead voice that drives every eccentric melody. It serves as the definitive introduction to the band’s surreal songwriting and their penchant for dark, twisted storytelling.
Released at the dawn of the 1990s, the production captures a raw, independent energy that helped define the burgeoning alternative rock scene. The tight, rhythmic interplay between the trio creates a dense funk-metal sound that remains entirely unique to this day.
