Spoon And Rafter

Neil Halstead and his bandmates shifted their focus here, moving away from the wall-of-sound shoegaze of their past toward something far more intimate and patient. The record feels like a slow, dusty sunset, trading heavy distortion for delicate acoustic textures and a haunting, melancholic warmth.

Released on 4AD during the early 2000s, this collection leans into the label's signature moody aesthetic while embracing a distinct Americana influence. It captures a band finding beauty in the quiet spaces, resulting in a sound that is as fragile as it is deeply atmospheric.
