Autobahn

The title track is a sprawling, twenty-two-minute electronic epic that mimics the rhythmic monotony of driving on the German highway. It shifted the band away from their earlier experimental rock roots toward the precise, synthesized sound that would define their entire career.

Recorded in their own Kling Klang studio, the production relies on custom-built equipment and early synthesizers to create a clinical, futuristic atmosphere. This 1974 release stands as a landmark moment in the development of electronic music, proving that machines could possess a distinct, human-like soul.
