At Newport 1958

Miles Davis brought his legendary sextet to the Newport Jazz Festival in 1958, featuring the iconic lineup of Cannonball Adderley and John Coltrane. This set captures a pivotal moment where the group was firing on all cylinders, blending complex improvisation with a loose, live energy that studio recordings often miss.

WaxTime’s 2016 European pressing brings a crisp, vibrant clarity to these historic performances. You can hear the raw interplay between the horns and the rhythm section, placing you right in the middle of a golden era for jazz.
